The True Hope of Christmas…

December 8, 2014

Welcome to the time of the year when everyone is always in a rush, always needing to get something else completed, always has “one more thing” to take care of.  Unfortunately, while our intentions may be good the results do not always reflect that. (Note that I want to be the first to admit that my intentions and my results do not always match up, not just complaining about others) Over the past few weeks I have heard the following:

I hope that we have enough to get everything we want…

I hope that this Christmas will as big as last year…

I hope that I ______________________ (insert your materialistic request here)

Now I am not naive enough to believe that this is all anyone is thinking about at this time of the year, there are some very true, legitimate needs that I have also heard:

I hope that _______________ gets to see their family at Christmas

I hope that _______________ finds a job…

I hope that _______________ overcomes their addictions….

I hope that _______________ gets well…

I hope that _______________  overcomes cancer…

I hope that _______________ (insert your non-materialistic request here)

I have also heard some that are church related:

I hope that the Choir does a good job at the Christmas Program

I hope that the actors do not forget their lines during the Program

I hope that we have a good crowd at the Program and Christmas Service

But the ONE thing, I have not heard much of is this…

I hope that ______________ finds Jesus during this great time of the year

Now that I have finished my rant (thanks for staying with me this far), My Christmas Wish for everyone who reads this is that whoever your loved one/friend/co-worker is that needs Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior finds the peace that only He provides this holiday season!

JESUS CHRIST – THE TRUE HOPE FOR THE WORLD!

Luke 2:10-11 (ESV) – “And the angel said to them, Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people.  For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord”

Will you introduce someone to Jesus and help them enjoy a lifelong relationship with Him?
