What a Mighty God We Serve…

March 28, 2019

On January 20, 2018, we announced here our intentions to start broadcasting over Social Media to help spread the Gospel of Jesus. The intent was to get back to our true calling to use unconventional ways to reach as many people for Jesus as possible. We are now 14 months into this and we wanted to PRAISE GOD for what He has done. Please know that NONE of this would be possible without YOU! YOU have made this grow faster than we could have imagined and YOU have shown me that we can truly have new wine in new wineskins (Matthew 9:16-17). Below are some of the blessings that we have experienced that we want to share:

We started broadcasting just once a week and now we are broadcasting six nights a week using Facebook Live!

We have seen people in over 10 states and 3 countries watch our videos.

We have uploaded over 25 messages on our YouTube channel.

We now have our main Facebook Page and a Closed Group that allows our members to have a safe place to post prayer requests, questions about the Bible and Biblical living, and fellowship with memes and jokes and causal conversation and posts.

We have developed friendships with many that we would never have met without being obedient to God’s call.

We have heard many great testimonies about what God is doing in the lives of those who are connected to this ministry.

We have developed a Partnership with Johnny MacAllister and Impact Evangelism and are proud to have him teaching on Tuesday Night Bible Study.

We have basically started the “iChurch” that we mentioned in January of 2018 based on Acts 5:42. Our plan is to expand this year to having occasional get-together for those in driving distance and have at least a monthly live service with music that will be broadcast on our Social Media pages.

We have been asked by US31RADIO.com (and our friend Clay Barnes) to start developing a segment that will play on their station.

We are praying about starting a Podcast and the format that would be used to help reach even more people.

As you can see – God has been doing great things and we are excited to see what is is store for House2Hope Ministries in the coming months! Thanks for keeping us in your prayers!

New Beginnings!

January 20, 2018

Hello Everyone!

During the last couple of years, House2Hope has kept a low profile and has tried to help ministries “behind the scenes”. After much prayer, I feel that God is getting ready to shift our focus back to our original vision – “To introduce people to Jesus Christ and to help them enjoy a lifelong relationship with Him. We want to do this by going house to house, city to city, and nation to nation.”

In the near future, we will be using Facebook Live, Periscope, and YouTube to reach people and hopefully have an “iChurch” for those who are interested in church but for whatever reason cannot or will not attend a traditional church.  We are also planning on starting a group in our home in the next couple of months that will be the basis for our “iChurch”.  We will use Social Media to allow others to comment, ask questions and participate.

Please send me an email (Phil@House2Hope.com) or send a message via The House2Hope Ministries Facebook page for more information.

Be blessed!

House2Hope Endorses the CSB Bible

June 27, 2017
I have held off on writing too much about the CSB until I had a chance to check it out, but I believe it is time to share how pleased I have been with this translation and how responsive LifeWay has been in wanting to help people make the transition.
I have been using the UltraThin Reference Bible as my go-to Bible for over a month now and have been preaching and teaching from it. I am thrilled with everything I have found so far. So much that I have made sure that the 2017 graduates, our Student Pastor and others have one for their use (at Brookside Church of God where we serve “in the temple”). I have also bought 15 of the Deluxe Gift Bibles and given them to younger Christians as well as children in our church because I firmly believe that this is the best version for them to learn with.
For full disclosure, I have received a marketing copy of the UltraThin Reference Bible that has a leather-touch cover (with a cross on the cover) and my only complaint is that I have not seen this version in the stores to buy yet so that I can share it with others.
Also, thanks to Brandon Smith and others from LifeWay for their support and willingness to talk to those who want to make the change to the CSB.  I am looking forward to using this version for years to come in every area of ministry.

The True Hope of Christmas…

December 8, 2014

Welcome to the time of the year when everyone is always in a rush, always needing to get something else completed, always has “one more thing” to take care of.  Unfortunately, while our intentions may be good the results do not always reflect that. (Note that I want to be the first to admit that my intentions and my results do not always match up, not just complaining about others) Over the past few weeks I have heard the following:

I hope that we have enough to get everything we want…

I hope that this Christmas will as big as last year…

I hope that I ______________________ (insert your materialistic request here)

Now I am not naive enough to believe that this is all anyone is thinking about at this time of the year, there are some very true, legitimate needs that I have also heard:

I hope that _______________ gets to see their family at Christmas

I hope that _______________ finds a job…

I hope that _______________ overcomes their addictions….

I hope that _______________ gets well…

I hope that _______________  overcomes cancer…

I hope that _______________ (insert your non-materialistic request here)

I have also heard some that are church related:

I hope that the Choir does a good job at the Christmas Program

I hope that the actors do not forget their lines during the Program

I hope that we have a good crowd at the Program and Christmas Service

But the ONE thing, I have not heard much of is this…

I hope that ______________ finds Jesus during this great time of the year

Now that I have finished my rant (thanks for staying with me this far), My Christmas Wish for everyone who reads this is that whoever your loved one/friend/co-worker is that needs Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior finds the peace that only He provides this holiday season!

Luke 2:10-11 (ESV) – “And the angel said to them, Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people.  For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord”

Will you introduce someone to Jesus and help them enjoy a lifelong relationship with Him?

Where are the leaders?

November 19, 2014

Has anyone thought where the leaders that will lead the church into the future?  I used to think that we all had plenty of time and that things would take care of themselves as we keep moving forward.  Unfortunately we have quit moving forward (towards the Cross) and have regressed and embraced the world and the sin that separates us from Christ.  As I have thought and prayed about this, I continue to ask God what can be done and He continues to point to one verse:

1 Corinthians 3:11 (ESV) – “For no one can lay a foundation other than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ”

I am now seeing what I heard about early in my ministry when people would warn that programs would overtake prayer; and that possessions would overtake the people; and that political correctness would overtake the power of God.

I am sad that this has happened “on my watch” and pray that God gives us one more chance to turn things around.  It also saddens me to see how many churches are without pastors and the number of pastors leaving the ministry each year (anywhere from 5,000 to 10,000 depending on who you ask).

Please join me in prayer for the many churches and ministries that are looking for leaders and that those that have solid Bible-believing leaders will make disciples to help these others as we work to get the gospel of Jesus out to a lost world as we “introduce people to Jesus Christ and to help them enjoy a lifelong relationship with Him”.

In case anyone is wondering, there are at least 6 to 8 churches within 15 miles that are looking for leaders right now.  Please pray that God raises up a new generation of leaders that will follow the Great Commandment and the Great Commission.

Until next time…

What’s Happening – November 3, 2014

November 3, 2014

I know that it has been a long time since I have written an article here instead of just using Facebook and Twitter to update what is going on, but I am excited about some of the things that have been happening here at House2Hope and wanted to list some of these things so that others can celebrate and pray with us as we see God moving in a powerful way!

  • We have seen an increased interest in House2Hope-Brookside from the community.
  • We had an incredible response to the Fall Festival that we hosted at the Brookside Apartments Community Center.  So thankful to everyone who helped with their time, talents, and contributions.
  • Sister Murphy from Tabernacle of the Word (in Birmingham) has been blessing the ministry and community with bread and other foods.  For those who have not met her yet, she is Shay’s mom!
  • I had the privilege to preach at Antioch Baptist Church in Graysville on October 19th.
  • I will be ministering at Pawnee Baptist Church (just off Carson Road) on November 23rd and December 28th.

We have also just finished a series on why we are a church and what makes us different focusing on our mission statement (To introduce people to Jesus Christ and help them have a lifelong relationship with Him) and our keywords (Family, Gathering, Mission, and Training).

I am praying that as we go forward, we will continue to find ways to be a blessing “in the temple” and from “house to house”.

As always, let us know how we can serve you and look forward seeing our Faith Family grow.

Christmas Celebration – December 15th

December 10, 2013

Hello Everyone!

Just wanted to remind everyone that we will be going door-to-door in the apartments on Sunday, December 15th singing the praises of Jesus and inviting all who want to come and celebrate the true meaning of Christmas at the Community Center to join us.

We will meet at the Community Center at 6:30 PM and be back at the center after a time of singing Christmas Carols in the apartment complex.  We are hoping that many will join us for pizza and other refreshments (First Come – First Serve) at the Community Center afterwards.

As always, please let me know if you have any questions.

Merry Christmas!

Starting The Year Out Right!

December 26, 2012

The holidays are coming to a close and the new year is about to arrive.  It is the time of year when many decide to make resolutions about things they want to change in their life.  Some want to lose weight.  Some want to improve relationships.  Some want to get out of debt or increase the size of their checking account.  All of these are very good goals (I need to do all of these), but there is one thing I want to challenge you to look at as we move into 2013.  I want you evaluate your relationship to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.  If this relationship is not right, I can assure you that the others will never be exactly where you want them to be.  If you have not made that decision, you can do it right now.  Read the following verses from the Bible and decide that you will believe these verses and accept them as truth for your life (all scriptures are from the ESV).

Start with Romans 3:23 “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God”

Then go to Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord”

Then see Romans 5:8 “but God shows His love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ dies for us”

Finally look at Romans 10:9 “because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved”

Are you willing to start 2013 out right with God?  I pray that this year includes God in everything that we do!

Be Blessed!

Phil (Phil@House2Hope.com)
